SmartGNSS: GNSS-based IoT System for Smart Monitoring of Landslides and Agriculture Applications

The SmartGNSS project introduces a groundbreaking GNSS-based IoT system, designed to deliver precision and reliability for geospatial applications. Developed through cross-border collaboration among Montenegro, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, SmartGNSS is set to address critical regional challenges in geohazard monitoring and sustainable agriculture by introducing cutting-edge GNSS corrections and IoT technologies.

In the Western Balkans, standard GNSS systems face limitations, such as poor regional coverage, reliance on cellular networks, and high costs. SmartGNSS overcomes these barriers by deploying a cost-effective IoT-based GNSS network featuring advanced corrections from permanent GNSS stations. The system ensures high-density coverage, low latency, and millimeter-level accuracy, even in remote and challenging terrains.
