Description: The PAE ViTech will deal with the implementation of research results obtained at the Faculty of Technical Sciences (FTN) from the field of AI-enabled cyber physical systems embedded in low altitude platforms (drones and vehicle-mounted cameras) to perform efficient, low power, on-the-fly image processing algorithms in order to bring novel CPS functionalities and provide multi modal perception. Depth perception solution that will be implemented will allow recognition and classification of various 3D object in outdoor environments and enable differentiation of agricultural vegetation of interest in the complex environment of peri-urban areas where metropolitan and rural sceneries are interwoven, and where classical AI-based approaches fail to deliver valid results. MoDrone that will receive the technology already has a fully managed cloud support system implemented on an entirely solar energy-powered platform that includes CORS stations connected to the EPN network. MoDrone will benefit from the solutions implemented on their airborne and vehicle-born platforms to deliver novel services in scarce plantations identification, plant health and nutrition monitoring, as well pest detection on the highly competitive digitized agricultural market.
